"I'm originally from France and have been living in the USA since 2013. I met my husband, who's a native New Yorker, back in 2008, and our love story could be straight out of a romantic movie. It was love at first sight. Fast forward to today, we're proud parents of two little girls and call Loveland our home.
Becoming a mother completely transformed me and sparked a strong desire to support other women. My journey into motherhood, known as matrescence*, showed me my true calling: empowering others and helping them conquer their fears. Birth doesn't have to be the scary and violent event TV makes it out to be. With proper preparation, it's the most impactful and beautiful experience of your life, both for you and your baby.
In addition to my work as a doula, I'm passionate about holistic cooking and herbalism. It's not just a hobby; I believe it's where our journey to health truly begins. I also enjoy making my own cosmetics and cleaning products, staying true to my holistic lifestyle."
ABOUT ME
*the process of becoming a mother: Those physical, psychological and emotional changes you go through after the birth of your child now have a name: matrescence. The process of becoming a mother, which anthropologists call “matrescence”,,” has been largely unexplored in the medical community.
My second daughter was born at home, surrounded by an amazing team of my choosing. It was truly the most incredible experience I could have ever hoped for.
Since then, I've been on a continuous journey of learning about natural births, guiding mothers to shift their mindset from fear to empowerment. And let me assure you, your baby will thank you for it!
But it was the postpartum period that truly propelled me into doula work. No one really talks about what postpartum is really like. No one discusses what you truly need after giving birth. No one tells you that that first bowel movement after birth is no picnic, and you should have magnesium on hand before it happens. No one educates you about proper postpartum nutrition, the challenges of breastfeeding, which can be both incredibly tough and remarkably beautiful, or the moment you fall head over heels for your baby, only to be greeted by an explosive diaper that leads to changing your bedsheets for the third time in two days! It's as challenging as it is beautiful. But most importantly, no one tells you that you have the right to ask for help or to say NO if you're not up for it. Your new priority is you and your baby, not tiptoeing around someone else's feelings.
Let me help you embrace this new version of YOU! I can be as gentle as I am fierce when it comes to meeting my clients' needs.
Your partner will be your most crucial support, and I firmly believe it's best to have them involved, informed, and trained, knowing that your doula is here for both of you.
Before having my first daughter, I thought there was only one way to give birth: hospital, epidural, and back home. But after our birthing experience, I had this deep, soulful feeling that something wasn't right, like I'd been robbed of my own story. I was supposed to be the protagonist, but instead, I felt like a bystander to our own journey. It's something I can never reclaim and wouldn't wish on anyone.
My friend and neighbor at the time opened what I like to call "the Pandora's box of birth." She opted for a home birth, which, at the time, seemed completely nonsensical to me. My inquisitive mind needed to understand why a woman would choose home birth or desire a natural birth. So, I delved into reading, listening, documenting, and watching everything I could find. That's when it hit me: birth is far more profound than I'd ever been led to believe. It's a transformative, life-altering experience. It can be incredibly empowering, reshaping your outlook on life itself. That realization completely shifted my mentality.
